Pavlova was baked prior to the Beasts’ fall by both the then Fount of Knowledge and Bringer of Happiness. His “purpose” at the time was simply as a son for Eternal Sugar since she had been struggling with her own issues at the time and wanted someone she could take care of. He was too young through most of the Beasts’ descent to process what was going on. He happily played in the garden, went for brief flights in the forest, listened to his father’s stories until he fell asleep… It didn’t really click for him until his mother began giving more and more cruel punishments for those who expressed discontent or desire to leave, and his father slowly stopped visiting.
As his small world became smaller and he was ushered away from the outside world, he became increasingly uncomfortable and scared of what his mother was becoming. When he tried to reason with her, he received the first and only warning he’d needed to keep from attempting that again. Now with the knowledge that the statues in the garden had been real, living people before and with much shorter wings, he was on his best behaviour in front of his mother. At least to a point. He was quick to figure out where the line was that she would tolerate and kept carefully at the edge of it, never tipping over, but treading it lightly while desperately wanting to leave.
He doesn’t get the chance to attempt fleeing by the time the Witches intervene. In an attempt to preserve her utopia, Eternal Sugar tucked him and as many of the residents of the garden into her jewelry box as she could manage, and there they sat for the hundreds of years that followed, never aging, never changing. Waking up was a different kind of torture, because while he was free of the box, he still wasn’t free of his mother. The world had changed drastically, the area outside the Garden now part of a wild and dangerous region called “Beast-Yeast”. He learns of the Beasts’ reawakening, of Dark Enchantress Cookie and of the Ancients that now possess halves of their soul jams, and he’s given one simple duty. He’s allowed to go outside the garden every now and then to look for someone called Hollyberry Cookie, and his one job is to bring her to Eternal Sugar.
Personality If you were thinking the angel coded little boy was going to be sweet and innocent you’d be wrong. He can be sweet when he wants to be, but he can just as easily get petulant or petty if he’s upset or annoyed. He isn’t above taking his frustrations out on other people if he feels they are partly to blame for it, as in the case of him getting huffy with Hollyberry’s retinue after he gets in trouble for trying to warn them not to leave.
That said there is a part of him that does genuinely want to help others. It’s become a little bit warped over the years as he tried to cope with what was going on around him. He started to use his ability to see the hearts of others as a means to ease his own boredom with the never-changing paradise his mother created. He’d spend hours upon hours reading the love lives of others and nudging them at each other according to his whims, citing his job as a herald of love and blessings to excuse it. It’s the only form of play he really had short of sleeping for hours. There’s only so much to do in an eternally peaceful garden.
Despite being a child, he does have a surprising amount of maturity for his age. He’s able to understand suffering on a deep level both because of his own experiences and the experiences he’s read over the years. He’s got some empathy burnout, but that care for people isn’t gone. He just needs some time to recover himself before he can worry about others.
Appearance This is mostly just for his more humanoid appearance, since his cookie form is just his official appearance here. The style of his hair is the same for the most part, with the distinction of it being hair and notably kind of unruly with all of the curls. Very soft, and he takes very good care of it. Same for his wings and feathers. The feathers on his wings are scarily soft, with the exception of his primaries which end abruptly, and if one were to feel along the edges of the feathers they’d feel how they had been cut and now have a bit of a jagged edge to them. It’s hard to tell just from looking at them.
His skin is peachy and leans more pink than is normal. His cheeks are prone to flushing, and he blushes a lot whenever he’s excited or angry or upset. This also means when he’s scared it’s pretty obvious as he gets very pale. He stands at about 4’11” and makes up for how small he is by mostly just hovering or flying so that he is on the same level as whoever he’s talking to.
Clothing-wise he tends towards light and airy clothes. He likes shorts and robes and anything with ruffles. This preference for robes and the like is in part because it’s a lot easier to account for his wings that way, but they’re also a lot more comfy than more restrictive clothes.
Interests Love, for one, but he also loves reading. He could read for hours and not get sick of it. He loves getting lost in a good story and he also enjoys writing when he gets the chance to. He’s written a lot of short stories in his time and he likes to take notes for himself about plotlines and twists for characters based on the messes he finds in real life. Another interest of his are animals! He loves animals a lot and can often be found talking to them as though they can understand him. Whether they actually can or not depends on the animal really, but he’s successfully nudged relationships together between animals before and he’d do it again. It was his main source of entertainment through the years he couldn’t leave the Garden. He’s also fairly good at different kinds of art because there simply wasn’t anything else to do.
Family
Father: Blueberry Milk Cookie Shadow Milk Cookie
Mother: Eternal Sugar Cookie
Siblings: This depends heavily on if one considers Candy Apple and Black Sapphire to be Shadow Milk’s children. Pavlova doesn’t know about them regardless, and he doubts they would know about him either.
