overview:

His trust in his father has grown over time, validating the immense love he has for his dad. He’s noticed often that his dad will worry about putting on a show, and despite Pavlova’s assurances that he’d care about him either way, seems scared to be genuine. Seems to truly believe there’s nothing underneath the masks. Pavlova is sure there is, but… That’s not something he can force, he’s finding.

Still a very complicated person for Pavlova to talk about or to in certain instances, but though he still doesn’t have his closure with her, he can’t deny that he’s become fond of her. In a lot of ways, though she’ll never truly replace his mother, she’s stepped into a lot of roles that Eternal Sugar used to before she closed off from him. Every now and then she’ll care for the garden or have her back turned doing something and he’ll be reminded of Sugarfly. Remembering her aches for some reason, so he tries to avoid it. He also feels a significant amount of guilt regarding her.

Pavlova could never have expected how quickly he would attach to this strange man’s presence, without even really trying at that. Conversations flow easily and there’s little judgement between them. Ain does have concerning tendencies and sometimes muses about things that remind him of his mother, which offput him, but on the whole he can see that Ain is… struggling. He’s a loving person that’s still discovering what that means. He’ll try not to mess up this time.

Luca’s a weird one for Pavlova. Meeting him first at the advice tent at Pride, he really didn’t think he’d done anything worthy of considering a debt, especially given how unrelenting Pavlova can be about the topic of love. He figured with how offput Luca seemed that he’d consider Pavlova weird and that would be that. But then Luca went out of his way to watch out for him and help him with his wings after the plays messed them up. Now he doesn’t know what to think about him, or what Luca thinks of him, and that’s uncomfortable for him

Shadow Milk

Pavlova absolutely adores his father. It’s more complicated these days considering everything that’s changed, and love doesn’t necessarily mean trust. He’s aware of all of the bad things Shadow Milk has done and knows that he’s still capable of it… He just trusts that for now he’s not interested in hurting him and that’s enough for him right now.

White Lily

Despite what Shadow Milk seems to think of White Lily, Pavlova has a very conflicted view of the new Guardian. He burns with questions to ask her that he both feels like he will be in trouble for asking but simultaneously won’t be able to settle down around her until he knows. There is no trust here. He can be affable with her, but he has one eye on her at all times. He doesn’t want to be locked up again and part of him wonders just why the cookie of freedom gets to choose who isn’t allowed to have it anymore.

Ain

Someone he met by chance and hit it off with. Ain seems like a lot of fun between his several relationships and how friendly he seems to be. Pavlova thinks that they could get closer depending how things go, and he definitely wants to hang out with him more, but after hearing that he was close with White Lily Cookie, he got a little hesitant about telling him much regarding his circumstances.

Till

Till reminds Pavlova of a cat in how he acts all huffy and grumpy, but doesn’t really do much about it. There’s something comforting about that, since Pavlova doesn’t really have to try too hard to cheer up someone who’s dead set on being Like That. If it happens it’ll be on Till’s time, and that’s fine. He can just sit there with Till and they can just Be.
